
Chairman of the Association of Producers and Exporters of Moldovan Gheorghe Gaberi notes that more than half of the mentioned volume of production – 16 thousand tons worth $21.63 million, average price $1.13 – was sent to the EU countries. The largest buyers of Moldovan grapes in the EU are Romania – 9.95 thousand tons ($12.1 million), Poland – 3 thousand tons ($4.7 million), Holland – more than 1 thousand tons ($1.7 million). At a price higher than average within the European direction grapes from Moldova were supplied to Spain – $2,02/kg, Germany – $1,73/kg, Austria – $1,72/kg, Hungary – $1,66/kg, Holland – $1,57/kg, Poland – $1,55/kg.
In addition, Moldova exported significant volumes of table grapes to Russia – more than 6 thousand tons ($4.9 mln, $0.82/kg), Ukraine – 2.2 thousand tons ($1.5 mln, $0.67/kg), Belarus – 0.7 thousand tons ($0.68 mln, $0.94/kg).
According to observations of fruit market operators in Moldova, tens of thousands of tons of grapes remain in storage of vineyards and trading companies.
In 2024, Moldova exported 59.7 thousand tons of grapes worth $67.1 mln (average price – $1.13/kg).
