A press release from the MAIA Ministry of Agriculture and Food indicates that the bulk of the above amount, about 33.4 million, will be allocated to livestock producers in the form of direct payments (i.e., surcharges) for each kilogram of milk delivered for industrial processing to dairy factories. Applications for “per kilogram of milk” subsidies are collected and paid twice a year, starting in 2023. The current stage of payments is the fifth.
Also, MAIA reminds farmers that until September 26, AIPA continues to accept applications for subsidies for milk delivered for industrial processing in the first half of 2025.
The purchase price for milk in Moldova varies in the range of 6-9 lei/kg (without VAT). According to expert estimates, the subsidy “per kilogram of raw milk” in the structure of livestock breeders’ costs for industrial milk covers about 10-20% (depending on the level of purchase prices for milk for different categories of farms, on the productivity of the herd on a particular farm, etc.).
