Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi highly commended the Turkish diplomat’s contribution to deepening bilateral political dialogue, revitalizing Moldovan-Turkish relations, and strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. At the same time, as a sign of deep appreciation for his contributions to the development of Moldovan-Turkish cooperation, Minister Mihai Popșoi awarded the ambassador the Medal “For Diplomatic Merit”, Second Class.

Uygar Mustafa Sertel expressed his gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him and for the close and constructive cooperation with the authorities of the Republic of Moldova during his tenure.

The officials noted the successful development of bilateral Moldovan-Turkish relations in recent years, paying particular attention to the expansion of economic cooperation and the intensification of trade ties, as well as joint projects in the fields of education and culture.

The positive trend in economic relations between Moldova and Turkey is also reflected in the volume of bilateral trade, which exceeded 478 million euros in the first five months of 2026, while Moldovan exports grew by nearly 25% compared to the same period last year.
