Claudiu Năsui was appointed head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, and Eugeniu Osmokescu was appointed head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
Prime Minister Vasile Tofan stated that the new ministers face the challenges of accelerating economic growth, attracting investment, and improving government efficiency.
“There are four words, and each of them is very important: European economy, efficient government. The first word is ‘economy.’ The appointments of Claudiu Năsui to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization and Eugen Osmocesk to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry reflect this priority. We need an economy that grows faster; we need more investment, more companies capable of competing and exporting; and we need bold changes where processes can work better. “We will achieve all this while continuing to firmly follow the path of European integration,” Tofan stated.
According to the prime minister, creating a more efficient government requires reducing waste and bureaucracy, as well as eliminating processes that take up time and money without creating sufficient value for citizens.
“This is a challenging but very important mandate. The government will support them in carrying out the reforms they intend to implement for the sake of a stronger economy and a state that will work better for the people,” said Vasile Tofan.
It should be noted that the decree signed by the president does not contain a provision appointing Claudiu Năsui as deputy prime minister—a position traditionally held by the minister of economy.
