The outbreak was detected on wild trees (Ailanthus altissima) in an industrial zone in Chisinau. The presence of the pest was confirmed by test results from the IP CNSAPSA Laboratory for Plant Products and Phytosanitary Agents.
The ANSA Agency established a task force and approved measures to combat the spread of the pest. The task force defined the perimeter of the infected area and a buffer zone and organized emergency measures to eliminate the pest outbreak. Phytosanitary treatment of the infected area was carried out in stages over an area of approximately 7,000 square meters. Products and equipment approved for use in the Republic of Moldova were utilized.
