A representative of the Romanian company Unicom Tranzit reported that certain terminals at the Port of Constanța are at capacity, so trains carrying Ukrainian grain may be delayed for up to a week while waiting to be unloaded. At the same time, the company has a limited number of “narrow-gauge” railcars capable of handling the Ukrainian cargo flow, since all of them are currently being used to transport goods within Romania itself.
Furthermore, certain terminals in Constanța first accept trains carrying cargo from Romania and then those from Ukraine. Specifically, this refers to the ADM and Chimpex terminals, where several Ukrainian trains are currently waiting to be unloaded, according to agrointelegența, citing Ukrainian media.
For its part, the Moldovan Public Property Agency relayed a statement from the state-owned enterprise “Moldovan Railways,” which asserts that “CFM continues to prioritize the transportation of locally produced grain.”
