Matt Garman, head of AWS—the world’s largest cloud platform— announced the expansion of the partnership with xAI. He thanked Elon Musk and the SpaceXAI team for the partnership.
Musk responded in his usual style—with a brief “Much appreciated!”
Amazon Web Services announced the availability of Grok 4.6 on its platform on August 19. This is another step by xAI to expand the model’s reach beyond its own services and make it accessible through a major enterprise cloud infrastructure.
Grok Is Becoming More Accessible to AWS Enterprise Customers
Grok 4.6 is positioned as the flagship model for programming, agent-based tasks, and intelligent information processing. Among its features, Amazon highlights a 500,000-token context window and the ability to select different levels of reasoning intensity.
For AWS customers, this means the ability to use the new xAI model via Amazon Bedrock—a platform designed for building generative AI applications and agents. According to Amazon, Bedrock is already used by more than 100,000 organizations worldwide.
Thus, for Grok, this is not merely about the emergence of yet another access channel. The model gains an additional pathway to companies that already use the AWS infrastructure to develop and deploy enterprise applications.
In this sense, the brief exchange between Elon Musk and the head of AWS proved to be symbolic. Behind the phrase “Much appreciated!” lies a very specific business process: Grok gains access to a new audience of enterprise users, while Amazon Bedrock expands its portfolio of available models with yet another product from the frontier AI segment.
