The NBM reports on the distribution of its profits on its official website, specifying that the total profit earned was 1.82 billion lei, half of which was transferred to the state budget.
As of December 31, 2025, prior to the distribution of financial results, the NBM’s authorized capital amounted to 6.93% of the total monetary liabilities, which represent all liabilities of the National Bank of Moldova except for those owed to the Government of Moldova and the International Monetary Fund.
According to the Law on the NBM, when the capital ratio is between 4% and 10%, the profit available for distribution is divided in equal proportions.
Thus, in 2025, the profit available for distribution was allocated as follows: 50%, or 910.41 million lei, was used to increase the NBM’s authorized capital, and 50%, or 910.41 million lei, was transferred to budget revenues.
