According to the operator, nearly 8.5 million passengers passed through Henri Coanda Airport and Bucharest-Băneasa Airport over the past six months—a 5.1% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The number of takeoffs and landings increased by 3.4%, to 68,400 operations.

As noted by Agerpres, Romania’s largest airport—Henri Coanda International Airport—served more than 7.7 million passengers. Bucharest-Băneasa Airport posted the highest growth rate, with passenger traffic reaching 745,700.

This figure was 51,000 passengers higher than for the entire year of 2025, setting a new all-time high for the airport.

CNAB CEO Bogdan Mîndrescu attributed the growth to the implementation of a strategy to attract new airlines, expand the route network, and increase flight frequency. He also highlighted investments in the quality and safety of airport infrastructure.

It should be noted that CNAB operates Bucharest’s two international airports, through which the majority of the country’s passenger air traffic passes.
