At the company’s annual general meeting, held on July 10, 2026, Floarea Soarelui’s shareholders resolved to cover the 2025 loss using future profits. In other words, all net income generated in 2026, in accordance with approved regulations, will be allocated exclusively to covering losses from previous years, and no dividends will be paid.
Floarea Soarelui SA is the largest company in Moldova’s oil and fat industry and is owned by the Trans-Oil Group. As of the end of 2025, the company had 1,449 shareholders. The company’s major shareholders are the Cypriot companies Amableus Limited (49.761%) and Trezeme Limited (34.896%), whose ultimate beneficiary is businessman Jhashi Vaja.
Logos Press previously reported that during the 2025/26 marketing year, Moldova increased its sunflower oil exports but did not fully restore its production and commercial potential following the disastrous 2024/25 season. It should be noted that during the period from July 2024 and June 2025, sunflower oil exports from the Republic of Moldova totaled only 19,210 metric tons, worth 437.7 million lei—the weakest result in the last five years.
To a certain extent, this was due to a prolonged technical shutdown at the Floarea Soarelui plant, caused by the country’s authorities denying the company’s management the opportunity to supplement production capacity by importing sunflower seeds. This clearly affected the company’s financial performance.
