The Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru), the Nisporen City Hall, and Nisprofcon SRL signed a contract for the implementation of the project “Modernization of Urban Infrastructure for the Socio-Economic Development of the Satul Nou Revitalization Zone.” At the same time, a contract was signed with a technical supervision firm, which will monitor the quality and timeliness of the construction work.
The project is funded by the Government of the Republic of Moldova through the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL), and its implementation is coordinated by ADR Centru in collaboration with local authorities.
The project is being implemented as part of the national regional development program. FNDRL funds are allocated to modernize engineering, transportation, and social infrastructure in Moldova’s cities and villages with the aim of reducing disparities in regional development levels.
What the Project Entails
As part of the project, more than 11,000 square meters of pedestrian infrastructure on eight city streets are scheduled to be modernized. The work will cover Suveranității, Ștefan cel Mare, Dacia, and Vasile Lupu streets, as well as pedestrian walkways on Horelor and Grigore Adam streets.
In addition, a safety fence will be built and a parking lot will be constructed near the kindergarten in the Satul Nou neighborhood, which should improve safety and convenience for children, parents, and staff at the preschool.
It is expected that over 7,600 residents of Nisporeni will be able to benefit from the modernized urban infrastructure.
As noted by ADR Centru, the project is part of an ongoing program to revitalize the urban environment. Previously, 170 parking spaces were created in this same part of the city, and pedestrian access routes to three regional medical facilities were reconstructed.
The new project is scheduled to take 12 months to complete.
