Uygar Mustafa Sertel and Mihai Popshoi
Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi spoke highly of the Turkish diplomat’s contribution to deepening bilateral political dialogue, revitalising Moldovan-Turkish relations, and strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. At the same time, as a mark of deep appreciation for his contribution to the development of Moldovan-Turkish cooperation, Minister Mihai Popșoi awarded the Ambassador the ‘For Diplomatic Merit’ medal, Second Class.
Uygur Mustafa Sertel expressed his gratitude for the honour bestowed upon him and for the close and constructive cooperation with the authorities of the Republic of Moldova during his tenure.
The officials noted the successful development of bilateral Moldovan-Turkish relations in recent years, paying particular attention to the expansion of economic cooperation and the intensification of trade links, as well as joint projects in the fields of education and culture.
The positive trend in economic relations between Moldova and Turkey is also reflected in the volume of bilateral trade, which exceeded 478 million euros in the first five months of 2026, whilst Moldovan exports grew by almost 25 per cent compared with the same period last year.
