According to the Ministry of Education and Research, during the current school year, 25 EduLIFE teams—comprising 80 young coaches, 25 mentors, and 87 volunteers—organized 426 events. These included informational sessions, discussions, educational games, meetings with experts, awareness campaigns, and social theater.
The main topics included violence prevention, human rights, mental, sexual, and reproductive health, as well as the development of life skills necessary for successful employment and social adaptation.
According to Silviu Gincu, head of the Ministry’s Department of Vocational and Technical Education, the EduLIFE network reached about half of all students in the country’s vocational and technical education system this year.
Young people with disabilities and refugees also participated in the program.
The EduLIFE network was established in 2020 by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research as part of a national program to develop life skills and prepare young people for employment.
The project is implemented with support from the Austrian Development Agency.
