    On the evening of May 21, the final episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert aired on CBS. It is one of the most popular late night shows on American television. Colbert has been the face of it since 2015, when he replaced David Letterman as host. The network announced plans to close The Late Show back in July 2025. It cited financial reasons.
