These and a number of other provisions concerning changes linked to the digitalisation of the healthcare system are contained in the draft of the new Law on Pharmaceutical Activities.
As Logos Press has previously reported, the Ministry of Health has once again put the draft out for public consultation; it regulates the new procedure for the sale of medicines and market surveillance procedures, as well as proposing a number of innovations.
For instance, all authorised pharmacies, regardless of their form of ownership, will be required to use an information system and to record the dispensing of medicines sold via that system.
According to the document, only authorised public pharmacies will be permitted to sell medicines online via their own websites or electronic platforms, having first notified the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (AMDM). Delivery will only be permitted within Moldova.
The sale of medicines via marketplaces that do not involve the direct participation of an authorised pharmacy will be prohibited. Each medicine’s page on the company’s website must display the trade name and international non-proprietary name (INN), therapeutic indications, instructions for use and price.
In addition, pharmacy websites will display a standard national logo with a link to the official register of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices. The Agency will be required to publish a list of pharmacies authorised to sell medicines online.
