
Meeting with the Minister of Defense
During a meeting with Defence Minister Anatolii Nosatii, the sides praised the level of practical cooperation between Moldova and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. They reiterated the willingness to continue and strengthen the dialogue, including through the NATO Liaison Office, in line with the objectives of the Moldova-NATO Individual Partnership Program for 2025-2028.
“The priorities of the cooperation agenda were also confirmed, with a focus on promoting the processes of reforming and modernizing the defense sector, strengthening national resilience in the context of regional challenges, as well as enhancing cooperation with North Atlantic Treaty Organization partners. These directions are aimed at supporting reforms, training and enhancing military interoperability as essential elements of modernization of the national security and defense system,” the ministry said in a communiqué.
For her part, Agne Glevetskaite reiterated the Alliance’s support for deepening cooperation with Moldova, including through joint events.
Dialogue with the Foreign Ministry
Earlier, State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Valeriu Mizha also received the head of the NATO Liaison Office in Moldova. The participants in the meeting discussed public diplomacy issues, the professional development program within the partnership, as well as the agenda of joint events scheduled in Brussels and Chisinau in the near future.
“Secretary of State Valeriu Mizha praised the practical cooperation between Moldova and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and reiterated the commitment to further interaction, including with the support of the NATO Liaison Office. For her part, Agne Glevetskaite reiterated the Alliance’s support for deepening cooperation with Moldova,” the Foreign Ministry said at the time.
Consultations with the Romanian Embassy
The NATO Liaison Office in Moldova publicly announced the beginning of Agne Gleveckaite’s mandate on May 26.
Even before that, on May 21, she held a meeting with the Romanian Ambassador in Chisinau.
“The discussions emphasized the importance of a strong partnership in the current regional context, as well as the role of practical cooperation between Moldova and NATO in supporting reforms, institutional development and enhancing the ability to respond to security challenges. In the current regional context, strategic communications, combating hybrid threats and developing institutional capacity remain key factors for strengthening democratic sustainability and promoting reforms for the benefit of citizens,” the embassy communiqué said.
