According to a statement from the Moldovan Investment Agency, the procedures are being organized by the State Property Agency and are aimed at attracting private investment and modernizing the targeted enterprises.

The glass factory is the most valuable asset up for sale

The most important asset included in the program is the state-owned enterprise “Chisinau Glass Factory,” which will be privatized through an investment tender as a unique cultural heritage site. The starting price is 773 million lei, and the future owner will be required to invest at least 20.5 million euros over the next three years.

The competition will be held in two stages, and the winner will be determined based on the financial proposal and the investment commitments made. The deadline for submitting bids is September 30, 2026.

Auctions for the sale of a hotel, publishing houses, and a chemical plant

In addition to the glass factory, Moldovan authorities have put up for auction the “Zarya” hotel in central Chisinau, with a starting price of 106 million lei, the “Stiința” publishing and printing enterprise, valued at 6.3 million lei, and the state-owned educational publishing house “Lumina,” with a starting price of 530,000 lei.

The “Izomer” experimental chemical plant will also be sold at a separate auction, with a starting price of 9.5 million lei.

Bids for all these assets will be accepted until August 19, 2026, and the auctions will take place on August 20 in Chisinau.

Both individuals and legal entities from the Republic of Moldova, as well as eligible foreign investors, are invited to participate.

Authorities state that the privatization program aims to ensure more efficient use of state property, attract private capital, and enhance the economy’s competitiveness.

The Investment Agency stated that it will promote these opportunities both nationally and internationally and provide support to potential investors by offering information about the investment climate in Moldova.

It should be noted that not a single state-owned enterprise has been privatized in Moldova over the past three years.
