The document defines the framework for interaction between the parties in the implementation of initiatives aimed at the development of multilingual education, exchange of international experience and involvement of representatives of ethnic and linguistic minorities in public policy-making processes.

Support to the National Center for Multilingual Education

One of the key areas of cooperation will be support for the National Center for Multilingual Education, established at the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University with Swedish support.

The center is expected to contribute to the professional development of specialists, the development of a digital library of educational resources, and the strengthening of professional networks and expertise in the field of multilingual education.

The Ministry of Education notes that the cooperation will make it possible to attract international expertise and best practices to improve educational policy in this field.

Focus on Dialogue and Youth Participation

The partnership between the Bureau for Interethnic Relations and the Martti Ahtisaari Foundation, with the support of the European Union, also includes projects aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and increasing the participation of national minorities in public life.

Special attention will be paid to the involvement of young people in public processes and the development of mechanisms for inclusive participation in decision-making.

According to the project participants, such initiatives should contribute to strengthening social cohesion and developing constructive dialog between different population groups.

International cooperation

CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation is an independent Finnish organization specializing in peacemaking, mediation and dialogue. The organization was founded in 2000 by former Finnish President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Martti Ahtisaari.

The Foundation has been working in Moldova since 2011 and implements projects related to social cohesion, multilingual education and the development of cooperation between state structures, the academic community and expert organizations.

The signing of the memorandum, according to the parties, should contribute to the further development of partnership between state institutions and international organizations in the field of education and public dialogue.
