A Tesla owner posted a message on social media X saying “Try Tesla self-driving”.

But that phrase alone wouldn’t have meant anything. So Musk accompanied his post with a testimonial from renowned software developer Robert Martin (Uncle Bob), who said he changed his mind about Full Self-Driving (FSD) after driving a Tesla Cybertruck.

According to the expert, the technology exceeded his expectations in terms of the quality of road perception and reaction speed.

Personal experience changed the skeptics views

In a quote distributed by Musk, Robert Martin admitted that he had previously been critical of Tesla’s claims about autonomous driving capabilities. However, after his personal experience of using a Cybertruck with the FSD system activated, he said that he has changed his position.

According to Martin, the system demonstrated a higher level of visual recognition and reaction to traffic situations than he expected.

He emphasized, however, that he continued to monitor the driving process as required by the technology’s current operating rules.

The publication was another element of Tesla’s campaign to promote Full Self-Driving, which the company sees as a key area of its development along with robotics and artificial intelligence.

Tesla bets on growing confidence in autonomous driving

Musk’s announcement comes amid a slew of feedback from Tesla users who say they are increasingly using FSD in their daily commutes. In the publication’s discussion, car owners reported long trips without driver intervention, use of the system in urban conditions and stress reduction during long journeys.

Some users also note that the technology makes trips more comfortable for older drivers and people who experience increased stress behind the wheel.

While such feedback is no substitute for independent testing and official safety statistics, it reflects a growing level of consumer confidence in Tesla’s autonomous driving technology.

For Tesla, the FSD system is not just an optional car feature, but one of the company’s key assets. Investors assess the manufacturer’s prospects not only through sales of electric cars, but also through potential commercialization of autonomous transport and robotaxi technologies.

Therefore, even Musk’s short publications on user experience can keep the market interested in the company’s strategy in artificial intelligence and autonomous driving.

At the same time, regulators and experts continue to emphasize that current versions of FSD require constant monitoring by the driver and are not fully autonomous systems.
