The opening of the embassy was discussed during a meeting between the head of the Cabinet and Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Mihal, which took place today in Gdańsk. During the talks, the officials discussed deepening bilateral relations, advancing the Republic of Moldova’s European integration process, and expanding Moldovan-Estonian economic cooperation.

Alexandru Munteanu thanked Estonia for its support of Moldova’s European course. The parties also touched on issues related to continuing joint projects in the areas of e-governance, combating disinformation, and addressing hybrid threats.

“Estonia is a reliable partner and a staunch supporter of the Republic of Moldova’s European integration. Its experience in building modern institutions, digitizing public services, and strengthening cybersecurity serves as a valuable model for our country’s transformation,” said Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.

In addition, the parties emphasized the importance of increasing Estonian investment in our country’s economy. Estonian companies are expanding their presence in the Moldovan market, contributing to job creation and the development of new production capacities. At the same time, according to data for 2025, the volume of bilateral trade between the Republic of Moldova and Estonia grew by 44%, reaching 14.43 million euros.
