In case of failure to meet contractual deadlines, contractors may be subject to contractual penalties of 10% of the contract amount.

Dorin Jungietu said this during a working visit to the site to check the progress of works and compliance with the deadlines set by the contractor within the strategic project of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead power line.

The minister emphasized that the Chisinau power substation is one of the most important facilities for the commissioning of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau transmission line, which ensures energy independence, and the delay in works affects the official launch of the project.

According to the company’s representatives, the works on laying cable ducts and underground passages, as well as on finalizing the assembly of the container, continue at the Chisinau power substation.

At the same time, at the Vulcanesti power substation, all the main equipment has already been installed, primary circuits have been connected, and in the near future secondary circuits will be connected to the protective equipment.

The Vulcanesti-Chisinau 400 kV Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead transmission line, 157 km long, is one of the most important energy infrastructure projects in the Republic of Moldova.

The project passes through eight districts and 35 settlements and is implemented within the framework of the Energy System Development Project financed by the World Bank Group. The total cost of the project is 61 million euros, of which about 27 million euros have been allocated for the construction of the transmission line.
