This year’s theme, “Indispensable. The Future Needs People” explored the crucial role of the human factor in a world marked by accelerated development of artificial intelligence and predictive algorithms.
The event brought together voices shaping the global technology and society agenda.
The centerpiece of the conference was a public dialogue between Mr. Mario Draghi, former Prime Minister of Italy, former President of the European Central Bank and author of a report on the future of European competitiveness commissioned by the European Commission, and Mr. Richard Quest, a British journalist known for his analysis of global economic developments and interviews with world leaders in technology and other fields.
During the conference, Ms. Anca Dragu exchanged views with Mr. Mario Draghi on new technologies, competitiveness and the importance of their use in the process of integration into the European financial market.
During the discussions, Ms. Anca Dragu highlighted the transformative impact of new technologies based on artificial intelligence on the economy and the financial system.
At the same time, the NBM Governor agreed on the importance of preserving the human factor in the decision-making process: “Technologies should be used responsibly, based on clear rules, with data protection, strict risk management and preservation of the human factor in the decision-making process,” Dragu said.
