RBC reports this, citing Crimean authorities. According to the Unified Duty and Dispatch Service, the incident led to power outages across the entire southern coast of Crimea and in Simferopol.
“Krymenergo” clarified that technical malfunctions occurred on the high-voltage grids due to “external factors.” This led to numerous power outages affecting consumers throughout the republic. Utility workers are conducting emergency repair work and expect to restore power within the day.
Galina Ogneva, head of the Alushta administration, reported that by 8:00 a.m., 2 MW of power had been restored to the city. Electricity was first directed to the district hospital and two sewage pumping stations.
This is not the first time power outages have occurred in Crimea. In June, power restrictions were imposed several times on the peninsula due to accidents at power facilities and high strain on the grid. Rolling blackouts were in effect in some areas, and residents were urged to reduce their electricity consumption. At the end of the month, the authorities in Crimea and Sevastopol also declared a regional state of emergency amid power supply problems and increased strain on the infrastructure.
