MP Dinu Plîngeu stated that he would propose the creation of a parliamentary commission to investigate the activities of state-owned enterprises. According to him, the investigation should cover several areas at once.
“I had a conversation with the Speaker of Parliament, and I proposed creating a commission to investigate the activities of state-owned enterprises. In my view, the work should focus on three areas: personnel appointments, the profitability of these enterprises, and the status of enterprises currently undergoing insolvency proceedings,” the lawmaker said.
According to Plingău, the commission should include not only members of parliament from all parliamentary factions, but also investigative journalists, as well as representatives of the National Anti-Corruption Center and the State Tax Service.
Separately, MPs Vlad Batrincha and Adela Raylanu registered a draft resolution to establish a parliamentary investigative commission to review the procedures for selecting, nominating, and appointing individuals to government positions in public authorities and state-owned enterprises during the period from 2021–2026.
As a reminder, Moldovan President Maia Sandu previously announced a package of measures to reform state-owned enterprises. It provides for the listing of minority stakes in commercially promising companies on the stock exchange, an expansion of the scope of published financial information, and the reorganization of the Public Property Agency. These measures were proposed following the scandal surrounding the state-owned enterprise MoldATSA.
