
This commemorative coin marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Rădeuțanu (1926–1998) — a world-renowned scientist, specialist in the physics and chemistry of semiconductor materials, the first rector of the Chisinau Technical University, and a full member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
A Doctor of Science and professor, he published over a thousand scientific papers and was awarded numerous honors, including the “Order of the Republic” and the title of “Honored Scientist.” His work has made a significant contribution to the development of technical education and the formation of the intellectual community in Moldova.
The commemorative coin is made of silver, has a face value of 50 lei, and has a mintage of 500 pieces.
Each coin is packaged in a transparent methacrylate capsule and a presentation box, and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Anca Dragu, Governor of the National Bank of Moldova.
The certificate contains a QR code that provides direct access to detailed information about the coin’s specifications, available on the institution’s official website.
