He made this statement to reporters, according to RIA Novosti.

“Now that [the conflict in Iran] is over, we are going to focus on [Ukraine]; let’s see if we can do that,” the American leader said.

Donald Trump stated during a press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron at the G7 summit that he had held “very good” talks the day before with Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He also expressed the view that his latest phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin went well. According to Trump, the Russian president is open to peace.

On June 14, Putin and Trump spoke by phone. According to Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov, the Russian leader first congratulated his counterpart on his 80th birthday. During the conversation, the parties agreed on a visit by American negotiators Jared Kushner and Steve Whitecoff to Moscow in the near future. According to Ushakov, the conversation between Putin and Trump lasted 50 minutes and was “friendly and frank.”
