According to him, Moldova is currently undergoing a major transformation aimed at reducing its external energy dependence and integrating into the European energy market, caliber.az reports.

“Moldova is undergoing a significant transition toward the European energy market. Azerbaijan is a key source in this market. In particular, during the forum, we paid special attention to this issue and the topic of energy exchange in the Black Sea region,” the minister noted.

Jungietu also reported that during the visit, meetings were held with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov and representatives of SOCAR. The parties discussed expanding economic and energy cooperation, prospects for collaboration in the field of renewable energy, and the implementation of strategic regional projects.

According to the minister, discussions with SOCAR focused on the prospects for supplying petroleum products and natural gas to Moldova on competitive terms, as well as opportunities to attract Azerbaijani investment into the country’s energy sector.

Particular attention was paid to regional projects in the field of green energy, including the “Azerbaijan–Georgia–Romania–Hungary – Green Energy Corridor” project, which provides for the transmission of electricity generated from renewable sources to the European market.
