The Center will support the development of the wine sector by testing and applying modern technological solutions in viticulture and winemaking. Its activities will focus on improving the competitiveness of Moldovan wines through laboratory services, consultancy, training and knowledge transfer to producers, students and professionals.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry Andrian Digolian, who was present at the event, emphasized the role of the wine sector in Moldova’s economy and the importance of cooperation between the academic community, research and producers.

“The wine sector represents a strategic sector for the Republic of Moldova, contributing significantly to economic development, promoting the country’s image and capitalizing on our traditions. In the context of current challenges, orientation towards innovation, quality and sustainability is necessary to increase competitiveness and adapt to the requirements of international markets. By bringing together specialists, researchers, manufacturers and development partners, this center provides an important framework for sharing experience, transferring knowledge and strengthening cooperation between the academic community and the economic sector,” said the Secretary of State.

Producers will benefit from soil, water, grape and wine analysis, plantation monitoring support, technological advice and testing of solutions applicable in the production process. The center will cover important stages of the winemaking chain, from plantation management to winemaking processes and quality control.

The Center for Innovation in Viticulture and Viticulture (CIVV) will play an important role in training professionals for the industry. Students will participate in practical classes, internships and training programs, including microviniculture, laboratory analysis, plantation monitoring and the use of modern technology.

The Viticulture and Wine Innovation Center will support the development of digital solutions for plantation monitoring, wine traceability and smart marketing. The center will also promote sustainable practices in viticulture and winemaking, focusing on efficiency, quality and adaptation to market changes.
