U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Tehran had asked Washington to continue negotiations, and the United States had agreed to do so. The president announced this on the social media platform Truth Social.

At the same time, the American leader emphasized that the previous ceasefire with Tehran had already ended. Trump also stated that he had left instructions to launch a massive strike against Iran in the event of an attempt on his life.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has asked us to continue negotiations. We agreed to this, but the United States has made it unequivocally clear to them that the ceasefire is over. I have left instructions—if anything happens, just literally bomb them with a force they have never seen before,” Donald Trump wrote.
