The courses took place from March 9 to May 31 as part of the National Action Plan for the Study and Promotion of the Gagauz Language in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia for 2026–2027.
The program focused on modern methods of teaching the Gagauz language and literature, as well as on developing teachers’ digital competencies.
According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the goal is to improve the quality of teaching in the autonomy’s schools and expand the use of modern educational technologies.
The ministry allocated approximately 130,000 lei to organize the courses.
The program will continue next year
At the certificate award ceremony, Ivan Duminica, head of the Ministry of Education’s Interethnic Relations Policy Service, stated that the program will continue in 2027. According to him, this will allow new groups of teachers to undergo training.
“Supporting the professional development of teachers in the autonomy is an investment in the future of education and the Gagauz language. Teachers who have completed the training will be able to improve the quality of the educational process and contribute to the preservation of the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Gagauz people,” — noted Ivan Duminica.
The National Action Plan for the Study and Promotion of the Gagauz Language provides for a set of measures aimed at developing the teaching of the official and native languages, improving teacher training, and supporting linguistic diversity in the region.
