The most important outcome in the new round of talks between Moscow and Beijing was the signing of a joint statement on strengthening comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation. Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping also adopted a declaration on a multipolar world, in which they opposed pressure on sovereign states. Thus, Russia and China recorded the commonality of approaches and views on everything that is happening on the planet.

The leaders also noted that Russian-Chinese trade was protected from external pressure and switched to settlements in rubles and yuan.

Putin reiterated Russia’s readiness to guarantee uninterrupted supplies of oil, gas and coal to China. Negotiations on the Power of Siberia-2 project continue.

Another important decision was the extension of visa-free travel for 2027, as well as the issues of supplying Russian energy resources to China. Moscow and Beijing have generally agreed on the gas pipeline project. Details are not disclosed, but it is believed that the parties have already reached an agreement in general terms.
