The social insurance budget received over 19 billion lei in 4 months

According to the operative report on the execution of the state social insurance budget, in the first 4 months of 2026, the social insurance budget received 19158.4 million lei, which is 37.2% of the approved annual plan.

Information from the National Social Insurance Fund (CNAS) reported that mandatory contributions amounted to LE 9,522.1 million, or 30.4% of the annual budget, up by LE 865.4 million (10.0%) compared to the same period last year.

Other revenues amounted to 334.3 million lei, of which 329.9 million lei accounted for the single tax levied on residents of IT parks, up 27.7% year-on-year.

Transfers from the state budget were financed in the total amount of 9302.0 million lei, in accordance with the requests for financing, of which:

  • 6282.0 million lei – destined for social security benefits and other payments;
  • 3020.0 million lei – for covering the deficit of own revenues of the state social insurance budget.

The total expenditures were executed in the amount of 17798.4 million lei, or 34.6% of the planned annual volume. As compared to the same period of the previous year, the executed expenditures increased by 1015.3 million lei, or by 6.0%.

The execution of the state social insurance budget for the first 4 months of 2026 ended with an excess of revenues over expenditures by 1360.0 million lei.

The balance of funds on CNAS accounts as of May 1, 2026 amounted to 1359.8 million lei.
