Agricultural producers whose corn and sunflower crops have been seriously affected by weather anomalies will be able to receive direct financial assistance in the form of payments per hectare. The funds are allocated from the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development. The decision is dictated by the extremely difficult climatic situation: in some areas, temperatures reached 39°C and rainfall deficits of up to 80%, resulting in an almost complete lack of moisture in the soil.

Agrarians who have damage assessment reports drawn up before October 23, 2025 can apply for the payments. The main condition is the degree of crop damage, which must be at least 50%. According to official data, the most critical situation is in the southern and central regions of the country, including the districts of Stefan-Voda, Cahul, ATU Gagauzia and Causeni, where the total area of affected lands exceeded 56 thousand hectares.

In order to receive assistance, farmers should submit applications to the territorial subdivisions of the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA). Among the key requirements are the absence of bankruptcy or liquidation procedures, as well as the absence of valid insurance policies for the same areas and risks.
