This reports Delo.ua quoted a report by the State Customs Service as saying. Growth was also recorded in the financial dimension of exports. The value of exported shellfish amounted to $662 thousand, which is 14.5% more than in January – March 2025.
The main consumer of Ukrainian shellfish remains the European Union. In the first quarter of 2026, the main buyers were: Spain – 87.2%, Italy – 4.8%, Germany – 3.3%.
Domestic demand for this category of goods in Ukraine has also increased. The volume of shellfish imports to Ukraine increased by 18.5% – up to 1.1 thousand tons. For the purchase of foreign products, $5.5 mln was spent, which is 41% more than last year. The key suppliers to the Ukrainian market were China (39.7%), Peru (26.7%) and France (12.1%).
