According to the assessment of the Ministry of Agriculture, based on operational reports of district agricultural departments, harvesting of winter crops has started in some southern regions of the country. Wheat yields fluctuate within 3.5-5 tons/ha. However, there are also fields from which less than 3 tons per hectare is harvested.
The area of winter wheat crops for the current year’s harvest is estimated by the MAIA Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry at 320 thousand hectares. According to the calculations of Agrocereale Association, it is considerably less – 279 thousand ha. For the crop 2024, 364 thousand ha were planted with wheat in RM.
