Within the Growth Plan, Moldova will receive a financial package worth 1.9 billion euros: 400 million euros in grants and 1.5 billion euros in loans on favorable terms for 40 years.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean rejected the critics’ accusations and emphasized the importance of this event: “For the first time, Moldova will make so many investments in such a short time. The opponents of the European aid want to keep the country in the gray zone of poverty. But we have the lowest public debt in the whole Europe. We want to develop Moldova and we are doing it right,” the prime minister said. – We will have European living conditions: roads, infrastructure, well-paid jobs, kindergartens, schools, modern hospitals,” Recean emphasized.

The growth plan has two key components: reforms and investments. The reform program includes 56 reforms and 153 concrete measures structured in 7 main areas: business development and support for modern agriculture; better roads; fast and accessible digital networks; efficient and transparent tax administration; improved public services in education, health and social assistance; environmental protection and development of renewable energy sources; energy security and investments in critical infrastructure; fighting corruption and strengthening justice

“Reforms are not a condition imposed on us, but a necessary step for the state to function better and deliver real results. And this is very important – money comes to Moldova as long as we comply with these standards, respect European values such as good governance, rule of law, efficient institutions and eradication of corruption. Each tranche of financing will be linked precisely to the implementation of the reforms,” the prime minister said.

The second component of the Plan – investments – implies concrete projects that will have a direct impact on people’s daily lives. These include the construction of the Chisinau-Ungheni highway, the construction of two modern regional hospitals in Balti and Cahul, the modernization of the water supply, sewerage and road infrastructure in the settlements, subsidies for the industrialization and modernization of agriculture, as well as the energy efficiency of public and private buildings.
