Copies of the Declaration of Independence were symbolically presented to district education departments as part of the National Forum for Educators, “35 Years of Independence: History, Identity, and National Dignity.”
To this end, the ministry conducted a procurement process to ensure that every educational institution received a framed copy of the document.
“You will receive them beautifully framed, one for each institution. They will be displayed in a prominent place and will become part of each school’s institutional identity. This is an opportunity for students, parents, and the entire educational community to recall those events and to remind us all of the need to build this country’s independence every day,” Perchun stated.
The Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova was adopted by the country’s parliament on August 27, 1991. The document proclaimed Moldova a sovereign and independent state. The original Declaration of Independence was destroyed by fire on April 7, 2009, in the parliament building. The document was later reconstructed based on surviving copies.
