The city is building up its water reserves

This is one of the decisions approved by the Chisinau Municipality’s Emergency Commission in connection with the declaration of a state of heightened readiness in the country’s water supply and energy sectors.

In another decision, the commission authorized city districts, the aforementioned department, and other units to build up reserves of drinking and industrial water using reservoirs, Eurocubes, and tankers.

At the same time, municipal authorities will assess water needs for schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and social institutions, and, if necessary, will hold negotiations with water supply providers.

Continuous Monitoring of the Situation

According to another decision by the emergency commission, “Apă-Canal Chișinău” will continuously monitor the hydrological situation and report on the operation of water intake and supply systems.

These and other decisions by municipal authorities were aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted operation of essential public services. It was decided to establish working groups in each sector of the capital to track strategic water and fuel reserves and the needs of local institutions.

In the energy sector, municipal agencies were instructed to conduct an inventory of fuel reserves and build up additional reserves for public transportation, specialized equipment, generators, and other machinery.

It was decided that the procurement of goods and services will be carried out on a priority basis, and expenses will be covered within the limits of approved budgets.

The Chisinau City Hall will request up-to-date information from the central authorities regarding developments at the national level.
