This provision is part of a draft proposal by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, developed as part of the Restart reform. The proposed measures are aimed at addressing the labor shortage in the sector.

It is specified that university graduates who, upon completing their studies, begin working in social assistance institutions will receive a one-time allowance of 150,000 lei in installments over three years.

Graduates of vocational and technical schools are eligible for a grant of 96,000 lei.

Young professionals will also be reimbursed for housing rental costs in the amount of 3,000 lei per month, or 36,000 lei per year.

However, if a young professional resigns voluntarily or is dismissed for cause before completing five years of continuous service in the system, they must repay the assistance received.

According to the draft’s authors, the cost of supporting young professionals is estimated at 10.8 million lei annually. At the same time, the agencies responsible for social assistance and child protection in the municipality of Chisinau and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia will provide such benefits within the limits of the financial resources available to the administrative-territorial units.
