Traditionally, the spring convocation of the event focuses on light, subtle, spring-summer aromas and flavors: white, rosé, sparkling wines. Special attention will be paid to local varieties: Feteasca Albă, Feteasca Regală and Feteasca Neagră rosé, which reflect the “terroir” and diversity of Moldovan winemaking.
The Wine Opening is organized by the National Office of Viticulture and Vine (ONVV), an institution mandated to promote the image of wine products united under the aegis of the national brand “Moldovan Wine. Surprisingly good”, and wine culture on the domestic market. The event is supported by the institutional partner, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA).
“The 25th edition of Wine Opening is a proud moment for the entire Moldovan wine industry. For 25 years, this event has brought wineries closer to consumers, created a space for dialog between producers and the general public, and contributed to the formation of a culture of consuming quality wine enjoyed responsibly. “Wine Opening. Our Pride” is an invitation to discover, appreciate and support Moldovan wine”, said Stefan Yamandi, director of ONVV.
Publicity, terroir and a reason for pride
For the first time, Wine Opening will include a self-service tasting area designed for visitors who wish to discover Vinului Moldovei at their own pace and create a personalized tasting experience. Wine sales will also be organized during the event.
As part of the anniversary event, Wine Opening opens a series of important events dedicated to Moldovan wine in 2026. It creates a natural connection with the National Wine Day, which will also celebrate its 25th anniversary. These two events together mark the maturity of the industry and the growing rapprochement between producers and the public, turning Moldovan wine into a symbol of local “terroir” and a true cause for national pride.
