At the meeting they talked about how the system will be organized in practice: who will be its administrator, how the collection and return of packaging will be organized, as well as what problems should be eliminated before the launch.
It should be noted that the SDA system is an expensive project, which is estimated at 20 million euros at the first stage. The Commission chose Eco Ret, but this decision should be legalized by a governmental decree
A special emphasis was placed on digitalization. The authorities plan to simplify environmental reporting and to unify data between state bodies so that businesses do not have to submit the same reports to different authorities.
There were also questions about the project “Solid Waste in Moldova”. It involves the development of infrastructure throughout the country – from sorting and transloading stations to the expansion of the sanitation system.
Another topic is waste traceability and simplification of procedures for obtaining environmental permits. The authorities state that the system should not only be environmentally friendly, but also work for business.
