The National Commission for Financial Regulation (NCFR) clarifies that it did not issue such a document and that the document made publicly available is a forgery. The agency also notes that it currently lacks the authority to license this type of activity involving virtual assets. This is especially true given that Moldova does not yet have specific legislation governing virtual assets, and the relevant regulatory framework is still under development.
The Commission recommends that citizens exercise caution regarding investment offers advertised online and verify the authenticity of information, especially when it comes to licenses or permits issued by government agencies.
Individuals who come across suspicious documents or have doubts about the legality of certain financial services are strongly advised to consult the list of organizations authorized to provide financial services in the Republic of Moldova, which is available on the CNPF’s official website, or to contact the authority by phone at 022 85 95 95 or by email at [email protected].
