A hearing on an issue that has recently become a topical issue will be held on June 12, 2026. The event is organized by the Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance in cooperation with the Commission on National Security, Defense and Public Order. The main purpose of the discussions is to assess the current situation in the country, analyze the effectiveness of measures taken by public authorities to protect citizens, and develop new mechanisms to prevent cybercrime.

The initiative is dictated by the growing risks, which have been repeatedly pointed out by representatives of the authorities. Earlier, on the air of the “Jurnal Politic” podcast, President Maia Sandu urged citizens to be as vigilant as possible. The head of state emphasized that despite the ongoing information campaigns, many people continue to fall for the tricks of criminals. The President explained that such schemes are often coordinated from abroad, which makes it extremely difficult to recover funds, therefore, prevention and prudence remain the most important means of protection.

In this regard, Maia Sandu proposed a simple security algorithm: when receiving suspicious calls, citizens are advised to stop the conversation immediately. Before making any financial transactions, it is important to double-check the information and consult with relatives, family members or local authorities.
