The deciding match took place in Budapest and ended 1-1 in regulation and extra time, after which PSG was more accurate in the post-match series – 4:3.

Londoners opened the scoring already in the sixth minute thanks to Kai Havertz’s goal. However, in the second half Ousmane Dembele converted a penalty and restored the balance. In the remaining time, the teams were unable to find a winner.

The outcome of the match was decided by a penalty shootout

In the penalty shootout PSG players realized four out of five kicks, while Arsenal players made crucial mistakes. The victory allowed the Parisian club to win Europe’s top club trophy for the second year in a row.

For Luis Enrique’s team, this is the third Champions League final won in the Spanish specialist’s coaching career. Paris Saint-Germain also became the first club since Real Madrid to defend the title of the tournament winner.

English teams had a unique chance to win all three club tournaments this season. Astton Villa had previously won the Europa League and Crystal Palace had won the Conference League. But the defeat of Arsenal London prevented this beautiful story from taking place.
