The number of young people opting for dual education has risen considerably in recent years. The Minister for Education and Research, Dan Perciun, believes that this development represents one of the successes of the technical and vocational education system.
“There are 2,700 young people admitted to dual education, compared with 1,000 in 2023. That’s a phenomenal increase,” the official said.
Another priority is the development of textbooks for technical specialisms, a process that would be a first for the Republic of Moldova. 70 million lei from the Growth Plan has been earmarked for the methodological component, funds which will be utilised next year.
At the same time, for the first time, graduates of technical vocational education can be assigned as junior specialists, under conditions similar to those in schools and nurseries. The first 15 young people have been assigned to vocational schools and colleges.
