
According to the press release of the Ministry of Culture, this award confirms the status of the reserve as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Moldova, which is annually visited by more than 150,000 people.
Less than an hour’s drive from Chisinau, visitors can discover various outdoor activities: hiking and biking trails, kayaking, paragliding, bird watching, horse-drawn carriage rides, gastronomic master classes and accommodation in authentic guesthouses in the surrounding villages.
In addition, Old Orhei hosts important cultural events, including DescOperă, the Festival of Wolves and the Festival of Miorica, promoting the country’s cultural and tourist heritage both nationally and internationally.
