Moldova’s aviation sector will report its emissions

A new mechanism for airlines to report their greenhouse gas emissions will be implemented in the Republic of Moldova. The data will be collected and verified by the country’s authorities. The goal is to assess and, if necessary, mitigate the environmental impact of aviation.

A training session was organized for airlines subject to the new requirements. During the session, participants learned, step by step, how to prepare monitoring plans and correctly submit emissions data.

The event was attended by representatives of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Climate Action and the Environment, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Environmental Inspectorate, and the Civil Aviation Authority, as well as representatives from KLM and Air France and the Netherlands Emissions Authority.
