The government has approved the bill. It applies to producer organizations and associations, as well as cross-sectoral organizations in the agro-industrial complex. This is a unified legal and institutional framework that will regulate their establishment, recognition, and operations.
The document defines the types of activities for which producer organizations may be recognized, including processing, marketing, packaging, promotion, and storage of agricultural products, as well as the organization of joint procurement and quality control.
The law also establishes rules for the formation and use of funds to finance operational programs, as well as procedures for monitoring, suspending, or revoking recognition and recovering payments.
In addition, the draft regulates the activities of inter-sectoral organizations as a tool for cooperation among producers, processors, and traders, and defines the powers of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the Agency for Agricultural Interventions and Payments.
This legal framework will create the necessary conditions for agricultural producers to apply the cooperation mechanisms provided for by European Union legislation and to adapt in a timely manner to the requirements of the Common Agricultural Policy.
