In connection with the cases registered by the police in the districts of Glodeni and Riscani, where three people were injured as a result of contact with objects resembling components of anti-hail missiles, the Special Service for Active Impact on Hydrometeorological Processes has set up a Commission of Inquiry to investigate the circumstances of the incident, the MAIA Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry reports on its website.
The commission will analyze the identified components and technical documentation related to the batch of anti-hail missiles. The commission will also involve the manufacturer, as it is he who supplied the batch and guaranteed its technical parameters by means of the certificate of conformity.
Earlier it was reported in social networks and a number of Moldovan media outlets that two incidents with (presumably) anti-hail missiles occurred in the past few days, resulting in three victims. The injured were two children (10 and 11 years old) and a young man (18 years old), who were taken to hospital with injuries sustained due to the two explosions.
The first case was registered last night in the village of Petrunia (Glodeni). According to preliminary information, two children found an object similar to an anti-hail rocket and tried to disassemble it. During the manipulation, the object exploded, resulting in injuries to the children.
The second incident took place today in the village of Corleteni, Riscani district. A young man sustained injuries to his left hand as a result of the explosion. A part of an anti-hail rocket was found at the scene.
