Teams from Moldelectrica are already on site, inspecting the damaged areas to determine the full extent of the damage and identify the necessary technical solutions for repairs.
According to authorities, if the work is carried out exclusively by Moldelectrica’s own staff, the restoration of the infrastructure is expected to take more than a week. To shorten the repair time, the authorities are evaluating all available options, including engaging specialized companies and conducting an urgent assessment of the availability of necessary construction materials.
The Ministry of Energy stated that its top priority is to restore the damaged infrastructure as quickly and safely as possible, and promised to keep the public informed about the progress of the repair work.
Forecasters predict that severe weather from the north of the country may reach Chisinau this evening.
